In 1962, U.S. President John F. Kennedy gave a speech encouraging the Nation's space effort, wherein he stated, "We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win...."

It is in this spirit that KCOT takes on the challenge to make a difference in Tempe and beyond.  For over sixty years of KCOT's existence, the Club has been comprised of profound citizens - a mixture of dreamers who envision more equitable and just societies, and high achievers who make dreams a reality.  The Kiwanis Club of Tempe is dynamic because it is comprised of dynamic members.  Each member shares their remarkable essence; this is what makes KCOT "The Club of Clubs."

KCOT has drawn leaders from business, government, finance, sports and entertainment, not-for-profit, healthcare, law, education, journalism, and natural resources.  Onetime and current members that have been drawn to contribute their energies and skills to KCOT include:
